Stay tuned, the link to Peter and Remy will be added when available. See below for details.
Coming Mid-May: YUKON-CURRICULUM-LINKED MUSIC VIDEOS from the ENRIOSONGSTERS, REMY RODDEN and PETER LENTON
In lieu of a Community School Touring Program concert tour this month to Old Crow and other locations -- cancelled due to Covid-19 -- Peter and Remy will present several of their educational songs in video format for access by all schools. Videos will contain a combo of: intro/warm-up activity, a new recording of the song, pre- and post-activities, suggested curriculum ties and additional resources links on various topics drawn from Science, Language Arts and Social Studies curricula.
Topics will range from habitat (“What’s That, Habitat”), animal adaptations (“Proud To Be A Beaver”) and cycles in nature (“Cycles” and “L’eau, notre plus beau cadeau”)... to environmental stewardship (in “Green Kids on the Loose”) and global citizenship (in “Proud Like a Mountain”).
These short, engaging (~7-10 minute) videos will be presented in a manner that provides maximum flexibility for teachers and parents to adapt to various learning levels, in diverse regions, to reinforce/deepen the mastery of units already completed and/or in-progress. Thanks to the Community Schools Touring Program and the Department of Education for the reallocation of resources to support this innovative initiative.
