Principal's Message

The Johnson Elementary School staff is focused on the very important goal of ensuring that “A Balanced Literacy Approach”, in supporting student success in reading, writing, listening and speaking, is successfully implemented school wide.  Success will be attained by our staff being in-serviced on a combination of instructional strategies with the goal of developing competent, literate learners.
We also know that learning is a social activity and conditions for ultimate learning are influenced by the environment both inside and outside of the school.  With this in mind, we are striving for improved student attendance and strong social responsibility under the umbrella of JES Cares.
We welcome parents and community members to visit us at work.  Each month the staff will be focusing on instructional strategies and specific sets of skills related to our School Growth Plan.
Parents, community members, Liard First Nation, School Council and Watson Lake Secondary School are our partners.  We thank you for your support and welcome your presence in our school.  Watch for our newsletters to be posted on this website.
Sincerely, Ralph Pilz, Principal
